Preserving property and history: Clay tile re-roof in Kansas City's Roanoke Neighborhood

Fidler on the Roof KC replaced the clay roofing tile on this home in Kansas City's historic Roanoke neighborhood.

Ludowici french tile gave this century-old home a new lease on life.

An important part of our work is preserving the past by maintaining the roofs of historic properties. Kansas City's Roanoke neighborhood began around 1900 and is still going strong today. Using Ludowici French tile, we undertook a complete replacement of this residential roof, including new waterproofing and copper nails and flashing. In addition, our team took care to protect the driveway and landscape during construction. Clay tile roofing is unique, visually striking and requires experience and training to correctly install. We’re honored that homeowners and businesses in Greater Kansas City entrust us with their tile and specialty roofing needs.

About Ludowici french Tiles

Introduced in the 1890s, Ludowici’s French clay tile is characterized by a sculptured and dimensional design. The French terra cotta tile features deep locks on all four sides and two flutes on the surface, which are intended to enhance drainage. When installed, the flutes create a shadow effect on the roof. Ludowici’s French interlocking clay roof tile is covered by a 75-year material warranty.
