It's always gratifying to restore the luster of a historic home. We recently finished a total slate roof replacement on a vintage house in Lawrence. Although slate is highly durable, the waterproofing and wood beneath it corrodes over time and can ultimately lead to water damage. New Vermont slate, accompanied by copper flashing and copper nails, restored the organic beauty of the original roof and a separate garage building. The age of the home required removing some asbestos materials, which our team did safely and in accordance with city regulations.
